After discovering her husband Chris's affair with her friend Martha, Alison is struck by lightning, sending her to 1896. She meets a kind widower, William, and his daughter. Chris and Martha also arrive, scheming to steal William’s wealth. Alison thwarts them, grows close to William, and they open a bakery to help the poor. At their wedding, William dies saving Alison from an attack by Chris and Martha, who are then caught. Alison and Rose honor William's memory, finding hope in his legacy.
